Cheryl’s journey began with a troop in Philadelphia. After eight years, Cheryl achieved her Girl Scout Gold Award (at the time known as the First Class). As an adult member, she held almost every volunteer position available but her true passion was adult learning and the outdoors. Cheryl was recognized as a valuable volunteer and received the Outstanding Volunteer, Outstanding Leader, Appreciation Pin, Honor Pin, Thanks Badge, and Thanks Badge II awards. In 2008, Cheryl joined Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast as a membership specialist. Her experience and understanding of volunteerism made her a valuable resource. In 2012, Cheryl was promoted to learning manager where she led a team of nearly 50 facilitators. Her years of Girl Scout experience helped her create online and in-person curriculum. Cheryl also knew the importance of appreciating our members and coordinated multiple recognition events. After 14 years of professional experience, she retired in 2021. Cheryl attended Community College of Philadelphia and Penn State. Before Girl Scouts, she worked for the Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service (Philadelphia).
