Celebrating the 2026 Girl Scout Staff Association Hall of Fame Honorees
For decades, the Girl Scout Staff Association Hall of Fame has recognized professionals whose leadership has strengthened the Girl Scout Movement far beyond their individual roles. The 2026 honorees exemplify the collaboration, innovation, mentorship, and servant leadership that define the very best of Girl Scout professionals.
The Girl Scout Staff Association (GSSA) is proud to recognize four extraordinary leaders whose careers reflect the very best of the Girl Scout Movement. The 2026 Hall of Fame honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and an unwavering commitment to supporting Girl Scout professionals, volunteers, and girls across the country.
This year's honorees—Helen Wronski, Amy Colin, Christina Mitchell, and Terri Washington —have each strengthened the Movement in unique and lasting ways. Through visionary leadership, professional excellence, mentorship, innovation, and service to GSSA, they have helped shape stronger councils, stronger staff, and ultimately, stronger experiences for girls.
Helen Wronski - A respected executive and servant leader, Helen Wronski has dedicated decades to strengthening Girl Scouting at both the council and national levels. After serving as CEO of the Morris Area Girl Scout Council and later President and CEO of Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey, Helen answered the call to serve as interim CEO for seven Girl Scout councils and GSUSA Overseas, providing steady leadership during pivotal times of transition. As President of the Girl Scout Staff Association, she has revitalized the organization by strengthening governance, engaging new leaders, expanding professional development opportunities, and championing GSSA's visibility throughout the Movement. Her leadership has positioned GSSA for long-term success while inspiring countless staff members through her generosity, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to professional excellence.
Amy Colin - Amy Colin has spent more than 27 years serving the Girl Scout Movement as both a volunteer and professional leader. During her career with Girl Scouts of Northeast Kansas and Northwest Missouri, she held numerous executive leadership positions, including Interim Chief Operating Officer, before becoming Executive Director of Second Helpings in South Carolina. Amy continues to give back through her service on the GSSA Board of Directors, Membership Committee, and most recently as one of the lead facilitators for the Level Up Summit. She remains an active Girl Scout volunteer and National Delegate.
Christina Mitchell - As Chief Operations Officer for Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, Christina Mitchell is known for building high-performing teams, strengthening organizational operations, and creating innovative partnerships that expand opportunities for girls. Throughout her nonprofit career, she has consistently transformed organizations through strategic leadership, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to developing others. A certified Project Management Professional and Certified Volunteer Administrator, Christina also served as a lead planner and trainer for GSSA’s Level Up Summit, generously sharing her expertise in membership and volunteer development with colleagues across the country.
Terri Washington - Terri Washington has devoted more than two decades to empowering girls, volunteers, and staff through exceptional leadership and member engagement. As Vice President of Member Engagement for Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast, she oversees recruitment, volunteer support, and program delivery while fostering innovation and excellence throughout her council. A gifted trainer and former Sandler Trainer, Terri has invested in the growth of Girl Scout professionals nationwide and has become a driving force behind GSSA's Level Up Summit, helping develop professional learning experiences that strengthen staff across the Movement.
The Girl Scout Staff Association proudly celebrates these remarkable leaders whose careers exemplify service, leadership, and an enduring commitment to the professional community that supports girls every day. Their impact will continue to be felt through the colleagues they have inspired, the organizations they have strengthened, and the countless girls whose lives have been enriched because of their dedication.
