The purpose of the course is to provide an opportunity for Girl Scout staff to reflect on and enhance their leadership skills for their current and future roles. Foundational to the course is the leadership model based on the “Five Minds of a Manager” model developed by Henry Mintzberg and Jonathan Gosling, the same one that the leadership model developed by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is based on. The 6 mindsets provide a framework for guiding leadership behavior and developing transferable skills to grow membership, engage funders and strengthen the value of a single gender organization. The learner will reflect on their own strengths, strengthen collaboration skills and prepare for the future as a leader in an inclusive organization within a diverse environment. Learning will be collegial, concepts presented will be applied to current issues and sharing will be an integral part of the experience.
