In today’s ever-changing world, effective management matters. This series teaches valuable skills, tools, and habits utilized by successful managers in our very own Girl Scout workforce. Whether you’re looking to improve your core management skills or seeking new skills to learn, this series is designed to address four key topics: motivation, delegation, accountability, and feedback.

Part 1 is open to all Girl Scout Staff, whether or not they are members of Girl Scout Staff Association. Only $10 for non members, and FREE for members. Members must sign in when registering to receive the fee reduction. Questions? Contact us.

By the end of this series, you will be better equipped to manage or consider a management function at your organization.

This series is designed for early-career professionals and potential management candidates, however, a staff member at any level in the organization can benefit from a review of these topics and sharing in the conversation. The Emerging Manager Series is composed of two, one-hour sessions that can also serve as standalone sessions. While they work best when taught in sequence, one session is not a prerequisite for the other. Here’s the overview of the sessions:

Emerging Manager Series, Part 1: Wednesday, June 7, 4-5 pm EST

  • Explore the difference between leadership and management
  • Motivation: Explore setting expectations; motivation and rewards.
  • Delegation: Understand and identify benefits and barriers to successful delegation

Emerging Manager Series, Part 2: Wednesday, June 14, 4-5 pm EST

  • Accountability: What accountability is and how it impacts effectiveness; develop strategies to close the accountability gap.
  • Giving and receiving feedback: Understand the difference between feedback and evaluation; and how to effectively deliver feedback.

The series is presented by:
