This session will focus on how to leverage communities with a shared mission.  Resources and tools will be discussed for working with faith traditions in support of membership growth.

Presented by Jason Noland, CEO of P.R.A.Y., and Steven Scheid, Director of Scouting Ministries for The United Methodist church.

Jason Noland was selected as the Chief Executive Officer for P.R.A.Y. in 2016.  For more than 40 years Programs of Religious Activities with Youth has impacted the lives of nearly 940,000 young people and partnered with Protestant denominations and youth organizations across the country working to build stronger pathways to their faith.

A resident of metropolitan St. Louis, Jason had a twenty-year career with the Boy Scouts of America specializing in membership growth, unit service, and fundraising.  Before finding a home with P.R.A.Y., he provided leadership as the Director of Development and Volunteer Services for Saving Sight, a leader in eye banking worldwide with charitable vision services for adults and children across the state of Missouri.

An Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow, Jason earned his faith’s religious award as a youth.  He has served as a volunteer leader for all of his children at the unit level including Den Leader, Cubmaster, and Girl Scout parent, including “Cookie Dude”.

Jason and his wife of 29 years, Kimberly are the proud parents of Kaitlyn, Brayden, and Karlie who keep them active in support of their school and life experiences.  He is active in his community as a member of the Harvester, MO Lions.

He believes strongly that faith fortifies all experiences and there is no better partnership for youth ministry and religious education than the scouting programs in America.

Steven Scheid is the Director of Scouting Ministries for The United Methodist church. He serves as a Big Brother. He has engaged with Girl Scouts across the USA. Previously, he was a pastor in the South Carolina Conference and an industrial engineer. He is a board member for various nonprofit organizations, including the UMMF, GCUMM, Our Father’s House, and Strength for Service. He represents The United Methodist Church on the World Methodist Council. Dedicated to youth safety, Steven is involved with the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and has completed the Hearst Program and Ministry Safe Institute. He has spoken at various forums including the One Movement 2020 Membership and Marketing Conference. Steven believes in training through lead conferences on the relationship between youth service and faith. Steven's commitment is to create a church that embodies love, acceptance, and growth for youth. His vision is a church without walls, only open doors.
